Patti Casne recognized for service, Historic Preservation Review Board
Patti Casne of Helena began her Historic Preservation Review Board appointment on February 2, 2016, and served until October of 2024. Patti’s love for and interest in history shone through her service as a member of the “Interested Public.” Patti worked as an airline attendant when she met and married Ed Casne, and the couple moved to Helena, where they started their engineering firm Casne & Associates, a business now run by their son, Ryan.
Incredibly smart and ambitious, Pattie returned to school. She earned her bachelor’s degree in 2013 from Carroll College, an institution to which she holds strong ties.
Patti is now retired, and busier than ever. She remains engaged in her faith community, and participates in the “Care for Creation” ministry’s Jubilee Community Garden and Food Share garden plots. She enjoys quilting, hiking, bird watching, and attending classes at Carroll College—and of course, attending Historic Preservation Review Board meetings! Patti also serves as a beloved substitute teacher for the Helena School District. She enjoys time with her three children and their families.
Patti often entertains us by recounting her travels and describing the people she met. She ventures far to see family and always returns with a great story. Patti’s attendance at the review board meetings always brought positive energy and great enthusiasm for each and every nomination. We sincerely miss Patti’s participation with the board. Please join us in thanking Patti for her eight plus years serving the historic preservation community.
